I needed to find calm in the storm, and my favorite red, quinacridone red became and still is my favorite color, its bright intensely rich saturation gave me joy. And even though it leans toward the darker hues its shapes carried a softness around the edges that allowed the harshest parts of the outside world to become subdued.
